Baldwin Hills Parklands Habitat Restoration

Looking to connect with the land in your city? Consider joining a habitat restoration event. It’s a great opportunity to learn about native plants and local wildlife, all while spending some time outdoors on beautiful Baldwin Hills Parklands.

Community nature walks and nature sketching events

We offer nature walks and nature sketching events open to community members. These are frequently in collaboration with other organizations or facilities and led by our resident nature/art nerds. Check out the events calendar to see what’s coming up.

Become a docent for our field trip programs

Our field trip programs connect thousands of students each year to nature spaces within the highly urbanized Ballona Creek Watershed. Volunteer docents help make that happen! Docents receive training in local ecology and interpretation techniques and then work collaboratively to lead students in grades 3-8 on tours throughout the school year.
